The Boyd Garden Briminals are an active African American street gang operating out of the Boyd Garden housing area. Gang activity began in Boyd Garden around the 1970s with a clique called “Boogie Down Boyd Boys”. They were involved with distributing large amounts of narcotics up until the arrest of 25 active members after the DEA decided to intervene. Gang activity slowed down up until a couple of kids from Boyd Gardens who witnessed the prime of the Boogie Down Boyd Boys decided to make their own clique getting rid of the Boogie and naming it “The Boyd Boys”. Unlike the Boogie Down Boyd Boys this new clique wasn’t a major part of the Drug trade instead they were known for their random acts of violence being labeled as Demons in the local newspapers. After a disagreement at a local club 5 members of The Boyd Boys were involved in a fatal shooting 2 being killed and 2 getting jail time. The only remaining high ranking member was a man named Jaheim Martin. Gang activity slowed after this until Jaheim’s son Davontae gathered a group of his friends and created a new clique known as the “Boyd Garden Briminals” Davontae made sure this clique was a mix of being violent and playing a large role in the drug trade. Due to Davontae’s favorite color being red they could be seen wearing red majority of the time.
