The Bulgarian mobsters have no collective name and usually reffered to as simply "The Bulgarians" or "The Low Kings" (Niski Krale) , but a majority of front covers like businesses and shops to hide their Protection Money, Loan Sharking, Arms Trafficking, Money Laundering, Counterfeiting and Kidnapping operations. The Operations are lead by Zayko Balkanski with his brother Petar Balkanski, and their 4 cousins and overseen by Viktor Karapetrov as the eyes of Vasili Illiev, who was effective in scaring off the other mafias for early years.
However on January 22nd 1995, Vasili Illiev was shot down by unidentified when opened fire on his Mercedes-Benz as he left his favorite restaurant. Vasili Illiev's brother, Georgi Illiev was shot and killed at a restaurant in Sunny Beach, by a suspected sniper in 2005. After the fall of the Illiev empire, the two brothers were left behind to hold on to what seemed to be falling down around them. And after years of increased attacks and harrassment they are now actively situated around the Bronx in expansion after winning decisive turf war in 2008 against the Italians. 2019, they are still around but cracks are showing.
